STRIVE: Transmission Terrace
Featured from “SYNDICATE XVI” 2025 Illustration MFA Visual Thesis Exhibition, FIT
This card is a tribute to the music that I listened to non-stop when writing the original story to the game in 2017: Starset. When this game was more heavily influenced by Destiny and leaned entirely on the science fiction side, Starset’s music was almost like a soundtrack to what my mind was envisioning. The illustration tries to represent their star logo into the structure of a tuning fork, which sends electrical signals down the terrace circuits. The name also is a direct call back to their album titled “Transmissions”
Medium: Digital, Photoshop.
Process: The final digital piece came together from a digital sketch into a loose render in grayscale which gets multiple layers of gradient maps and overlays to get a sense of mood and color. Everything gets merged into one layer before focusing on the final render pass.
